Monday, 8th June 2015 Weekly Note

SPORTS DAY

The weather forecast for this week appears to be favourable, so we are planning to hold our sports day this Wednesday, 10th June. Mrs Breen and Miss Mimnagh’s classes will begin around 10.00am with P.4-P.7 pupils commencing at 11.30am approximately. Children need not wear their uniform on Wednesday, but should wear sporting attire.

SWIMMING GALA

Good luck to our team of swimmers who are off to Omagh Leisure Centre tomorrow morning to participate in the inter schools swimming gala. Doubtless all our participants will put their recent swimming lessons to good use.

GAELIC COMPETITIONS

Good luck to our footballers who have a busy week with 2 competitions this week. Tomorrow they are off to Dromore for the Allianz Cumann na mBunscoil competition and on Friday they travel to Beragh for the Paddy Bogan Cup. The footballers have performed very well so far but luck has deserted them on a few occasions, so here’s hoping for a change of fortune this week!

P.1-P.3 SCHOOL TRIP

Pupils in P.1-P.3 are off on their school trip tomorrow, (Tues. 9th) to the Mellon Fun Farm. (Pupils concerned have further details issued on a separate sheet.) Hopefully the weather stays fine to enable the pupils to derive maximum enjoyment from their big day out.

FAN THE FLAME MASS

The P.7 Confirmation pupils travel to Derry on Thursday for an outdoor Mass in Celtic Park Gaelic Grounds. This always proves a very spiritual but novel ceremony and one which children in the past have enjoyed thoroughly. All pupils will need a packed lunch and in light of the unpredictable weather, should bring a coat or fleece. Children will return to school before the usual home time.

SCHOOL LEAVERS’ MASS

Just a reminder that the annual School Leavers’ Mass will be celebrated in the school next Tuesday, 16th June at 1.30pm. All are most welcome.

ALADDIN

Pupils in P.4/P.5 are off to St. Joseph’s Hall on Thursday to watch Holy Family P.S. production of Aladdin. Cost for the show is £3. Pupils are expected to be back for dinner but nevertheless a lunch may well be advisable as sometimes these shows can run late.

TYRONE SUMMER CAMPS

All those interested in participating in the Tyrone Summer Camps are urged to submit their completed application forms as soon as possible.

SCHOOL DINNERS

Cheques for school dinners should be made payable to E A Western Region.
