Monday, 7th December 2015 Weekly Note

Application forms for any pupils wishing to enrol in next year’s P.1 class are now available in the school.  Should you be aware of any prospective new parents, please let them know that these forms are available.  Whilst our school numbers are healthy, and school budgets are based on enrolment numbers, the fact remains that significant cuts have been imposed over recent years and therefore it is imperative that we attract all our ‘natural’ intake; we ask you to spread the word and if possible, promote the school to any friends/family members.

Christmas dinner is being served in the school this Friday, 11th December.  As there are usually very high numbers taking dinner that day, we ask that anyone not wishing to take dinner on Friday, please let their teacher know by Wednesday.  As dinners are ordered in advance, it would be appreciated by the catering dept. to have as accurate a number for ordering as possible.

A group of P.5-P.7 pupils have been asked to provide some carols and poems for the Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner on Thursday morning.  All pupils selected are invited to bring their tin whistles.

Just a little reminder of Christmas Play dates next week –

Mrs Breen & Mrs Mellon’s classes – Monday, 14th December @ 1.30pm

Mr Kelly & Mr McElholm’s classes – Wednesday, 16th December @ 7.30pm

Members of Drumragh College teaching staff will be visiting our P.7 class tomorrow to give our pupils a snapshot of life in their school before children make their choices for secondary education.

It’s Christmas Draw time once again folks!  We are acutely aware of the difficult economic climate we are currently experiencing, nevertheless, we respectfully ask for your support via the purchasing of tickets and/or donation of prizes.  Thank you in advance for your support.
