P7 SERVICE OF LIGHT/PLEDGE MASS

P7 pupils, parents (and sponsors, if available) are invited along to the Sacred Heart Church tonight at 7.30pm for their Confirmation ‘Service of Light’.  This always proves a very spiritual and thought provoking ceremony which is ideal preparation for Confirmation itself on 12th March.

This Mass will also provide the opportunity for pupils to make their ‘Confirmation Pledge’.  Increasingly, it was felt that this aspect of Confirmation was being sidelined and losing its importance in modern society.  As a result, it was felt prudent to bring this forward and combine it with the ‘Service of Light’ ceremony.  All children are asked to attend in their school uniform.

SCHOOL INSPECTION

The school was recently notified of a SII (Sustaining Improvement Inspection) which was held in the school on Wednesday, 10th February.  The purpose of the inspection was to ensure that the high standards from our previous inspection of 2012 were being maintained.  We are pleased to note a very positive outcome from this inspection which reported: ‘The school demonstrates successfully its continuing capacity to effect improvement’.
