Monday, 15th May 2017 Weekly Note

Good luck to all our P.4 pupils who will be making their First Holy Communion on Saturday in St. Mary’s Church, Drumragh at 12.30pm.  All pupils have been preparing diligently for their big day, so hopefully the sun will shine and add to the enjoyment of the day.  Pupils and their families are invited back to the school afterwards for light refreshments and the opportunity for family photographs.  Exact arrangements for P.4 pupils (re. seating etc) will be issued later in the week.  As always, we ask as many pupils (P5-P7) to assist with the choir so as to add to the sense of occasion.

Pupils in P.4 will participate in a Retreat tomorrow morning organised by members of the Derry Diocesan Youth Council.  This should prove ideal preparation for all our P4 pupils in advance of their big day on Saturday.

P7 pupils are off to Seskinore on Wednesday morning for a presentation organised by ‘Love for Life’.  This talk will focus on body changes as our pupils prepare for life in secondary school.  Any pupil with outstanding consent forms is reminded to bring these in as attendance will not be permitted without a consent form.

A meeting of the Parents’ Association will be held in the school on Tuesday night at 8.00pm.  As always, new members will be made most welcome.

Our P.7 pupils will get notification of their secondary school placings on Saturday.

Should any parent not receive their letter, there is a hotline available for parents to contact to confirm placings.  The number to call is 028 8241 1458 between the hours of 3.30pm – 5.00pm.

As part of the Sustrans Campaign for healthier lifestyles, the school has registered for ‘Walk to School Week’.  We ask that, if possible, your child/children can walk at least part of their journey to school this week.  Obviously the weather has changed significantly from last week which doesn’t help but nevertheless if at all possible we ask you to participate in this programme.
