Monday, 13th May 2013 Weekly Note

WELCOME BACK

We extend a warm welcome back to all our pupils following our week off.  As always the last few weeks of the year promises to be extremely busy but hopefully we will get a run of fine weather to ensure the smooth running of sports day, football events, school trips, etc.  Dates for these will be issued as soon as is possible but will be based on the weather for obvious reasons.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Good luck to all our P.4 pupils who will be making their First Holy Communion in St. Mary’s Church, Drumragh at 12.30pm.  All pupils have been preparing diligently for their big day so hopefully the sun will shine and add to the enjoyment of the day.  Pupils and their families are invited back to the school afterwards for light refreshments and the opportunity of family photographs.  Exact arrangements for P.4 pupils will be issued later in the week.  As always, our choir will join that of All Saint’s P.S. so we ask that as many pupils (P.5-P.7) be in attendance.

BELFAST MARATHON

We are pleased to report that the teaching staff all managed to complete the Team Relay of the Belfast Marathon last Monday.  Many thanks to all who made donations.  All donations will go to Marie Curie.

PLEDGE MASS

P.7 pupils who have just received the Sacrament of Confirmation are invited to attend the ‘Pledge Mass’ next Monday night at 7.30pm in theSacredHeartChurch.  All P.7 pupils are greatly encouraged to participate in this important service.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION MEETING

There will be a meeting of the Parents’ Association in the school tomorrow night at 8.00pm.  All new members welcome.

CASH FOR CLOBBER

The Student Council are currently organising a Cash for Clobber Scheme to raise funds for their in-school projects.  Anyone wishing to bring in bags is asked to do so this Thursday (18th May).

A5 PETITION

A petition in relation to the recent Stormont decision to delay the building of the new Dual Carriageway is enclosed.  Please try to complete and return to the school, so as to lend our support to this worthy pressure group.

INTRODUCTION TO HANDBALL

Good luck to Conor Thompson and Alen Barrun who have been invited to attend an Introductory Handball Exhibition/Tournament in St. Malachy’s P.S. Glencull on Friday morning from 10.00am-12.00pm.
