CREDIT UNION QUIZ
Good luck to our P.6 Credit Union quiz team consisting of Ronan Darcy, Lucy McCann, Carol McKnight and Eoghan McGrath who will participate in the ‘Chapter’ final in Kelly’s Inn, Garvaghy on Sunday (5th March) at 2.00pm. Having performed so well in Fintona to qualify hopefully our pupils can go one step further and reach the All-Ireland Final in Dublin!!
BREAKFAST CLUB
Following a recent note some ‘expressions of interest’ were submitted for a Breakfast Club in the school. As a result, we have decided to proceed with this idea on a trial basis. This Breakfast Club will be operational from 8.15-9.00am daily, beginning next Monday, 6th March and will be managed by our Classroom Assistants. The cost is £1 per child, which we ask to be paid daily so as to keep admin to a minimum.
It must be stressed that this is for a trial period only as we must establish how cost effective this venture will be. Should this trial period prove unsuccessful, adequate notice will of course, be given of any proposed change.
STEM CLUB
Next Wednesday will see the addition of a new After-School activity in the shape of a ‘Stem’ Club (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). This will run alongside the Art Club on a rotational basis so that when P4/5 pupils have Art, pupils in P6/7 can attend STEM and vice versa.
Next Wednesday (8th March) will see the beginning of the new block so P6/7 pupils will have Art with P4/5 pupils attending Stem. Be assured that Stem will be a largely practical/investigative activity so it should prove popular with investigative minds.
This cycle will continue until the Easter break.
BRYSON ENERGY
A staff member of Bryson Energy will be visiting the school on Wednesday morning to speak to pupils (P4-7) about the importance of energy efficiency.
WORLD BOOK DAY
This Thursday 2nd March is World Book Day. To mark this event, all pupils throughout the school are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Please note that parents are asked not to go to any great expense for this – it is purely for a bit of fun and no prizes will be on offer.
SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS
Anyone wishing to order photographs, please return the print along with payment by this Wednesday, 1st March.
