Monday, 2nd February 2015 Weekly Note

TRANSFER RESULTS

Well done to our P.7 pupils who endured a nerve-wracking Saturday morning, before the post arrived with Transfer grades. As mentioned previously, irrespective of grades awarded, all pupils should be proud of their efforts and if they maintain their current good attitude towards their work, will succeed – regardless of which school they transfer to.

INDOOR GAELIC

Good luck to our footballers who participate in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscoil indoor Gaelic competition on Tuesday morning. At least they will not have to worry about the ongoing poor weather for this competition!

CREDIT UNION QUIZ SUCCESS

Well done to all who participated in the Credit Union quiz on Friday night in Fintona Golf Club. All teams represented themselves very well and were right ‘in the mix’ until the later rounds. Particular mention, of course, must be made of our triumphant P.7 team of Pascal Taggart, Conal Devlin, Hannah Bradley and Conor Mullin who won the quiz by a clear 5 points thus ensuring qualification for the Chapter final in a few weeks time. Well done folks!

CONFIRMATION TALK

The rescheduled Confirmation talk which was cancelled a fortnight ago will be held tonight in

St. Joseph’s Hall at 8.00pm. Please note that this talk is for parents so pupils do not have to attend.

FIRST TRUST/ASDA

In an effort to improve the financial awareness of our pupils, pupils from P.4-P.7 will have a visit from members of the First Trust Bank on Wednesday morning. This will entail a presentation on the importance of budgeting followed by a number of follow-up fun and engaging activities.

Meanwhile our P.1-P.3 pupils will be off to our local Asda store in Omagh for a tour of the supermarket. As pupils will be back for lunchtime, lunch/dinner arrangements apply.

BOARD OF GOVERNOR PARENT REP.

Following last weeks ballot, I am pleased to confirm that Collette McCann has been elected to serve as parent rep. on the Board of Governors for the next few years. Thanks are due to both

Rosemary Neill and Lisa Norris for offering their services. It is heartening to have three such capable ladies willing to give of their time to assist in the smooth running of the school.
