FIRST COMMUNION

Congratulations to all our P.4 pupils who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday.  All pupils contributed wonderfully well to the Mass and helped make it a very special and intimate ceremony and hopefully one that will live long in their memory.  The weather did its best to dampen the spirits but hopefully this did not detract from the pupils’ enjoyment of the occasion.

A special word of thanks to all our choir members (& their parents) who made the effort to attend.  The music was beautiful and we really do appreciate your willingness to support our P.4 pupils on their big day.

A final word of thanks is extended to our Parents’ Association for their wonderful work in providing such a welcome spread back in the school – it was very much appreciated and enabled pupils and their families to mingle after the ceremony itself.

SPELLING BEE

Good luck to P.7 pupil Corey Armstrong who will be representing the school in the Tyrone heat of Eason’s ‘Spelling Bee’ competition which is being hosted by ourselves tomorrow.  No doubt Corey will give a good account of himself tomorrow against the other 15 representatives from around the county, but more importantly enjoy the occasion.

FRIENDS OF AFRICA SPONSORSHIP

Many thanks to all who contributed to the ‘Friends of Africa’ fundraisers.  Through a combination of sponsored spell, sponsored sing-along and P.7 confirmation money donations a total sum of £651.95       was collected.  This money will be presented to Misses Beth & Rosa Bradley next week in advance of their travels to Africa.

SOCCER CHALLENGE

A selection of pupils from P.4-7 will travel to our neighbours at McClintock P.S. Seskinore for a soccer challenge on Thursday.  Good luck to all – particularly those donning the school jersey for the first time.

LAY-BY DISRUPTION

The work on a long awaited lay-by at the front of the school is due to commence next Monday (19th May).  We apologise for any disruption during the period of this week and ask for extra care and vigilance when dropping off and collecting children during the morning and afternoon periods.
