APPLICATION FORMS

Application forms for any pupils wishing to enrol in next year’s P.1 class are now available in the school.  Should you be aware of any prospective new parents, please let them know that these forms are available.  Whilst our school numbers are healthy, and school budgets are based on enrolment numbers, the fact remains that significant cuts have been imposed over recent years and therefore it is imperative that we attract all our ‘natural’ intake; we ask you to spread the word and if possible, promote the school to any friends/family members.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAYRE

The Parents’ Association have organised a Christmas Craft Fayre next Sunday, 8th December in the school from 2pm-6pm.  There will be a wide range of stalls offering a variety of seasonal goodies for purchase/order.  We ask that as many as possible come along to support this fund-raising venture.

All pupils (P.1-P.7) have been busy preparing handmade crafts for selling at Sunday’s events.  Understandably, some parents have enquired about buying these items themselves.  Anyone wishing to purchase these small novelty items, made by their own child, can do so by forwarding £3 to the school before Thursday – obviously any that have not been specifically requested will be available for general purchase at Sunday’s event.

INDOOR GAELIC BLITZ

Good luck to our girl and boy footballers who are off to the Station Centre on Wednesday to participate in an indoor Gaelic Blitz.  Although we are due to return for dinner time, it may be wise for your child to consider opting for a packed lunch on Wednesday.

SACRED HEART COLLEGE TASTER DAY

P.7 pupils are off to SacredHeartCollege on Friday morning for a ‘taster day’.  This will enable pupils to sample life in SacredHeartCollege in advance of February when pupils nominate their choice of school for secondary education.

FILM CLUB

Film Club resumes this Thursday, when the movie on offer is the Roald Dahl classic ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’.

WELCOME MISS MCELHOLM

We welcome along a student teacher this week (Wed-Fri) when Miss Anna McElholm will be coming along to gain some experience in Mrs Mellon’s class in advance of her formal teaching experience in February of next year.

SACRED HEART MESSENGER AND FAR EAST

Anyone wishing to subscribe to the Sacred Heart Messenger £13.80 and the Far East £8 for next year, please send money in to office by 11th December.
