DRAMA

Sadly due to an unexpected return to poor health, our Drama Tutor Cliodhna Fullen has had to step back from her Tuesday sessions.  The Drama Class will continue however, under the temporary instruction of Mr Niall Colgan, a man with a strong background in the local drama scene.  Niall has kindly agreed to ‘hold the fort’ until Cliodhna’s return.  All are asked to remember Cliodhna in their prayers for a speedy recovery.

PARENT/TEACHER MEETINGS

The annual Parent/Teacher meetings have been fixed for next Wednesday, 30th October.  This will afford you the chance to have a chat with your child’s class teacher to discuss their progress and how they are settling in etc.

Some parents had queried the early date for such Parent/Teacher meetings in the Spring Parental Questionnaire and the fact is that our meetings were previously held in February until a Department of Education ruling that Parent/Teacher meetings must be held in the Autumn term.

An appointment for next Wednesday can be made by phoning the school office.  Should next Wednesday not suit, an alternative arrangement can be made by contacting the teacher(s) concerned.

BEE-SAFE HEALTH & SAFETY DAY

Pupils in P.7 are off to the ‘Bee Safe’ Safety Awareness Day in the Station Centre on Thursday.  This day involves working with a number of agencies including the P.S.N.I., N.I. Ambulance Service and N.I. Fire & Rescue.  Many aspects of safety in the home and wider environment will be explored in this interesting and popular event.

CONGRATULATIONS MRS MELLON AND MR KELLY

Congratulations to our 2 teachers Mrs Mellon & Mr Kelly, who both had busy weekends.  Mrs Mellon was putting her best foot forward in Moy G.F.C.’s, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ fundraising event and by all accounts proved to be a ‘natural’ on the dance floor.

Mr Kelly had an equally eventful weekend, when he and his Eskra team mates made up for the disappointment of last year’s defeat in the final to claim the Intermediate Football Championship in Omagh yesterday afternoon.  Well done to all involved.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL

Following the outstanding success of last year’s ‘Shoebox Appeal’ for children in the poorest countries of the world, it has been decided to run the venture again this year.  Your child has received a leaflet outlining the programme and stating what types of items are suitable or unsuitable.  A collection date for the appeal has been arranged for Friday, 8th November. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION MEETING

A meeting of the school’s Parents’ Association will be held in the school on Wednesday night at 8.15pm.  As always, anyone who would like to join the group will be made most welcome.

ASDA BAG PACK

Tattyreagh Youth & Community Group are organising a bag pack to raise money for the new play park.  This will take place on Saturday, 23rd November from 10.30am – 6.30pm in Asda.  Anyone over 16, who is willing to help, please contact Colette McCann 07882056811.
